OUR HISTORY

The Carling Partnership was founded by Bill and Julie Carling in 2001 to address a need made very clear by the volume of calls being made to the International Brewer’s Guild asking for suggestions for candidates for vacant posts. We initially specialised in brewing, our roots. But we quickly moved into other sectors.

Julie worked with Bill Carling, chief executive of the International Brewers Guild, for 10 years before they co-founded the Carling Partnership. Together they had built an extraordinary network of contacts. Julie is consistently seeking out the brightest talent in the marketplace, and has a hands-on role at some level in every recruitment assignment.

Prior to joining us, Penny was The Director of Human Resources at Burlington Consultants, Head of Financial Recruitment at Premier Personnel and a retained Search Manager at Martin Ward Anderson, bringing different angles and experience to our skill set. We greatly appreciate her tremendous creative and strategic thinking.

Tricia worked in the recruitment industry for over 20 years before specialising in the drinks sector with us. Her cross-industry experience ensures that The Carling Partnership is able to look beyond the boundaries of the drinks industry to guarantee it screens and recruits the very best candidates from a broad sector within the business community.

Laurence Rougeaux

A native French speaker, Laurence has worked in the recruitment industry for over 15 years, recruiting in Pharma, FMCG, technical and commercial roles. She has an extensive knowledge of relocation and employment law and has built an impressive network of contacts, becoming a proficient International Recruiter.

Shaun Parry-Jones

Shaun Parry-Jones

After 25 years as a solicitor, Shaun decided that he would follow his passion.

In 2020 he decided to hang up his quill pen and study with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Having completed the first three awards, Shaun is currently studying for the WSET Diploma and has gained a distinction in the vineyard and winemaking paper.

Shaun conducts tastings and talks on wine. He is passionate about English Wine and enjoys promoting, supporting and advising on the newest of New World Wines!

Brigid Davies

Brigid is the Office Manager, providing administrative support to the Carling team.

Prior to joining The Carling Partnership, Brigid worked in the outsourcing industry specialising in Account Management and Marketing.
