Bill CarlingBill Carling

Bill is a former Army Officer and has been involved in the brewing industry since 1985.

As Chief Executive of the International Brewers’ Guild, a role that drew on his people and management skills together with his team-building expertise, Bill’s position enabled him to assemble an extensive network of global contacts at all levels in the drinks industry.

In 2001, following the merger of the International Brewers Guild and the Institute of Brewing, Bill and Julie Carling saw an opportunity for a niche search and selection company specialising in their area of expertise, the brewing and drinks industry, and The Carling Partnership was formed.

Bill operates in close partnership with our major clients at a senior level across a wide variety of strategic assignments. He travels internationally meeting with clients and candidates to develop personal relationships and build upon CPL’s growing reputation as a key partner in the recruitment  process.

Julie BarkerJulie Carling

Julie worked with Bill at the International Brewers Guild for 10 years before forming the Carling Partnership, during which time she also built a boundless network of contacts within the brewing industry. 

Julie oversees every recruitment assignment from the initial briefing through to successful appointment.  Keeping abreast of key players across the drinks and brewing industries, she is consistently seeking out the brightest talent in the marketplace in order to offer the best candidates to employers.

Julie travels globally to specialised industry events to meet key clients and candidates in order to build links and further contacts across the drinks and FMCG industry networks.  This nexus of contacts enables Julie and The Carling Partnership to have access to a unique and extensive pool of talented candidates.

Tricia TappinTricia Tappin - Researcher

Tricia has worked in the recruitment industry for over 20 years and has an incomparable level of experience in researching, screening and evaluating potential candidates.

Tricia is particularly expert at identifying and helping job candidates in the early stages of considering a career move, and appreciates the level of importance that life-altering decision holds.

Her cross-industry experience ensures that CPL looks beyond the boundaries of the drinks industry to guarantee it screens and recruits the very best of candidates from a broad sector within the business community.

Penny ZaloumisPenny Zaloumis - Recruitment Manager

As an experienced Human Capital Practitioner, Penny has joined The Carling Partnership as a Recruitment Manager. Prior to this, she gained valuable experience as the Director of Human Resources at Burlington Consultants, Head of Financial Recruitment at Premier Personnel and a Retained Search Manager at Martin Ward Anderson. Penny is a creative and strategic thinker who is passionate about recruitment.

Laurence RougeauxLaurence Rougeaux - Office Mgr and Recruitment Adviser

Previously, Laurence spent 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a Sales/Office Manager and more recently as a HR/Recruitment Advisor. Following a voluntary redundancy and a career break, Laurence was keen to apply her skills working for a leading recruitment company ‘with a difference’ and CPL offered her the perfect opportunity to do so. Thanks to her office management, organisation and recruitment skills, Laurence supports the CPL recruitment team with their search, ensuring an efficient and smooth running of the office and recruitment activities on a daily basis. She deals with enquiries, manages our candidate database, drafts and oversees the vacancies on our website, and organises international event attendance. Laurence also contributes to the business’ high visibility within the drinks recruitment industry.
