Area Sales Manager - African Region (Europe based) - (Ref: 1175)

 

 

Our client is a worldwide leading company specialised in cleaning and sanitising solutions for the brewing, beverage and food industry . They also are expert in water treatment and process improvement solutions for all industry segments, delivering significant environmental, social and economic performance benefits to their customers. 

Our client has a real customer-oriented approach, a unique know-how, a highly qualified and experienced team of engineers and a worldwide support network which are the keys of the privileged win-win relationship that they have  established with major customers all over the world. 

They are now looking for an Area Sales Manager for the African region and based in Europe.

Key responsibilities:

 1.           Control the general activities of the distributor:

Comply with the terms of the distributor contract, production of the Company’s products from concentrates, logistics and supply chain streams (volumes), compliance with product- and service standards and specifications

Conduct audits of the distributor’s production sites in Africa

Ensure stock control

Check the use of NON Company owned products in running contracts

Check and follow up on financials of cost/hl contract

2.            Technical support at customer level:

Implement and follow up of Company’s applications

Conduct technical audits

Optimize cleaning and sanitation procedures and water treatment applications

Problem solve (RCA) the field of cleaning and sanitation and water treatment applications

Solve “small” engineering problems (dosing equipment, measurement equipment, etc.)

Write procedures – that would be needed to make a solution sustainable 

3.            Support at distributors level:

Inform the distributor of new application/products/approaches

Train the distributor’s staff on existing and new applications

Train the distributor on standard reporting templates

Support the distributor at joined customer visits. Being the Company expert in any technical discussion with customer and taking the lead in technical discussions 

4.            Marketing/Commercial activities:

Participate in internal/external technical meetings

Extend relations with existing customers at all levels in the customers’ organisation

Increase business through new applications and new customers

Close follow up of (new) customer and competition “activity”      

5.            Administrative activities:

Prepare technical/audit/visit reports

Keep consumption trackers (cost/hl contracts) updated and report any abnormality to RSD

In conjunction with the distributor, prepare/issue on time weekly/monthly reports

Organise/prepare and minute review meetings

Prepare training programs for customer and local service teams of agent 

6.            Serve as the Company’s local/ African point contact 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of brewing with experience and qualification(s)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communicator at all levels
  • Must be based in Europe with ability to travel regularly to Africa
