Commercial Manager - Brewing (Central Europe) - (Ref: 1262)



Our client is a highly successful global provider of catalysts, specialty materials, chemicals and services that enable environmental improvements. They are now looking to recruit a Commercial Manager within their brewing sector. 

This position will take commercial responsibility for silica gel products to the Brewing and Oil processing industry. The position needs to convince customers and potential customers including multinational groups that the Company specialty adsorbents products are superior for the customer’s application. 

This position will provide commercial and technical support into the Company Performance Chemicals Group, specifically support will be to the silica gel product line for the global Brewing and Edible Oil Processing & Biodiesel businesses.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary commercial and technical resource for Brewing industry, Edible Oil Processing industry and Biodiesel industry businesses to the commercial and sales team
  • Meet with current and prospective global customers
  • Provide industry and application expertise in the technical benefits and operational fit for the Company product line
  • Possess full understanding of brewing and vegetable oil refining production processes to be able to dialogue with customers on process improvement, and the promotion and application of the silica brand to improve customers product quality and production efficiencies
  • Design trial protocols and oversee customer trials, including pre-trial feedstock analysis and follow-up laboratory analysis
  • Provide consultation to the Company laboratory personnel in order to support customers and business growth
  • Handle trade-shows and advertising (includes creation/management of product advertisements)
  • Manage Marketing efforts for business growth and silica adsorbents opportunities 
  • Assist in lead generation and sample follow-up
  • Prepare offers in tenders
  • Prepare commercial reports and budget input
  • Travel Europe and internationally as required to support field sales

Key skills, experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or other relevant scientific disciplines required
  • Proven technical experience in Brewing industry and or brewing industry supply industry
  • Experience working in breweries
  • Understanding of brewing process and analysis, testing, operations and processing in vegetable oil industry
  • Technical background – needs to have chemistry/operations knowledge of brewing
  • Laboratory experience
  • Commercial experience
  • Strong English language skills
  • Additional language skill an advantage
  • Effective communication and computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
