Compliance Manager (London, UK) - (Ref: 1206)


Our client started brewing in 2011 and have trebled their production since 2014. As they continue to grow, it is the perfect time to join their brewery and they are now looking for a Compliance Manager.

Working together with Head of Brewery Operations and production team, the Compliance Manager will set beer quality targets that are meaningful and well-defined. They will develop and implement a robust system for sampling, testing and recording beer quality parameters. The successful candidate will also stablish Controlled Document System and Training Plan for all Brewery departments, follow up and report on progression. The Compliance Manager will report to the Head of Brewery Operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Audit regularly the functionality of the system to ensure it remains fit for purpose
  • Work together with Head Brewer and production team to build a traceability framework
  • Develop and implement a robust system for recording traceability details. Train others in use of this system.
  • Work together with Head of Sales/sales team to help develop and implement an import/export guidance document and relevant procedures
  • Ensure that the brewery maintains a facility which is generally safe, tidy, hygienic and legal according to SOPs, HACCP and Health and Safety policies
  • Assist teams in achieving weekly and monthly KPIs/targets and tracking results
  • Contribute to events and festivals and represent the brewery in public
  • Ensure that the quality of product leaving the brewery is excellent at all times
  • Increase your understanding of the art and science of brewing through study and investigation
  • Demonstrate the ‘Brewery’s Way’ to visitors and clients through knowledge and enthusiasm
  • Manage Internal and External (Suppliers) Audits
  • Be compliant with all Legal Requirement 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • A degree in Science
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of ISO 9000;17025 BRC quality systems
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Quality Manager
  • Experience of carrying out audits
  • Familiar with MS office and general computer packages using spreadsheets
  • Positive, enthusiastic and committed attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
