Head of Manufacturing (India) - (Ref: 1082)


Our Client, a globally leading Company with over 600 references in more than 60 countries across 5 continents, provides innovative solutions for beverage alcohol and bioethanol plant, brewery, water & wastewater treatment plant, critical process equipment and systems and bio-products. They are looking to recruit a Head of Manufacturing focusing on the fabrication of Brewery Process Equipment reporting to the Business Unit Head - Manufacturing. The role is based at their office headquarters in a major and attractive city in India which has a wide expat community and excellent international schools.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage production planning & operations within the defined time/ cost/ quality parameters
  • Be responsible for overall manufacturing activities, planning and coordination of production, procurement of material, output quality, inventory control, safety rules & regulations
  • Strategize techniques for maximum use of manpower VS machinery
  • Plan and execute the shop-floor operations
  • Ensure regular preventive maintenance of machine to enable a daily smooth operating shift
  • Supervise the shop floor/ assembly line and conduct process and product audits
  • Apply continuous improvement initiatives/ processes
  • Develop in-house sub-contractors, being mindful of product quality
  • Liaise with third party audit inspectors
  • Apply cost saving techniques/ measures and modifications to achieve substantial savings in terms of manpower, production cost & energy consumption

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Educational Qualification: B.E. Mechanical/Production/Fabrication
  • International Membership / awareness of AWS, NACE, ASME, IIW, ASQ, ASM
  • 20 years’ relevant background/experience with proven knowledge and experience of applying continuous improvement processes
  • Knowledge of stainless steel fabrication for process equipment essential
  • Hands-on experience in fabrication, welding and testing
  • Man Management experience essential
  • Thorough familiarity with audit inspection and quality control
  • Conversant with welding processes i.e. SMAW, GTAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW and NDT practices
  • Awareness of codes such ASME, TEMA, DIN
  • Effective and assertive communicator with mature leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills
