Head of Sales (Midlands, UK) - (Ref: 1243)

 


Our client, who serves the brewing industry, are now looking for a Head of Sales reporting specifically to the Sales/Marketing Director and more generally to the executive board.   

The primary objective of the Head of Sales is to promote and develop the Company’s sales opportunities through self-supporting initiatives and the progressive management of the technical sales team. 

The ideal candidate will ensure that the Company’s vision and objective/targets are achieved and be accountable for the successful growth of UK, European, North America and further worldwide sales. A key objective will be to seek to grow the Company’s turnover whilst growing the company’s profitability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse company sales data, product costing and profitability
  • Assess customer needs and requirement to maintain current business and or open new opportunities
  • Attend industry events, be the “Ambassador” for the Company and work with key accounts on a commercial basis
  • Complete and present tenders
  • Negotiate contracts and play an active role in the future costing and pricing initiatives of the Company
  • Manage the marketing team to support them with, advertising and promotional activities, including all website development
  • Promote any training that can have an impact on improving the Company’s customer service
  • Research on competitors and use the information gained to improve own competitive advantage
  • Lead the customer service team, UK technical sales team, export sales team and marketing team to maximise their effectiveness and grow the company year on year
  • Manage and run sales meetings, using this as a monthly focus to tweak and direct assessment of what is required to develop the successful growth of the Company’s sales performance.  At all times make recommendations to the Directors on anything that would improve the technical team’s ability to operate smarter.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track of accomplishment in sales with strong man-management experience. They will be an excellent communicator with strong analytical and organisational skills. Strong knowledge of the brewing industry will be advantageous.
