Multi Skilled Engineer Maintenance (London, UK) - (Ref: 1265)

 

Our client is a well-known leading brewery who are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer either Mech. or Elec. bias with experience of shift maintenance in a pressurised FMCG, preferably food / beverage environment. The ideal candidate must be multi-skilled and experienced but primarily must be able to deliver the very highest levels of machine reliability through very high standards of engineering teamwork and flexibility. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all brewing, packaging and utilities equipment is maintained so that the shift teams can operate in an optimal manner and meet all production targets
  • Develop and execute the planned maintenance program for all site equipment
  • React to all breakdowns in a safe but prompt manner so that any un-planned downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Maintain the workshop and associated equipment in a professional manner
  • Monitor and control the utilities equipment to ensure optimal output
  • When required undertake maintenance tasks on the building and facilities
  • Assist in operations to cover shift breaks when required
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.  This role is expected to put forward ideas to improve processes and product quality
  • Troubleshooting: report breakdowns and damage caused to equipment and assist where required in resolving the issue
  • Carry out any other duties as agreed with company management 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Flexible attitude towards work
  • Must be multi-skilled
  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification
  • Hold an Electrical Qualification
  • Must have relevant manufacturing experience
  • Electrical Skills for maintenance and repair: PLC faultfinding, three phase wiring, sensors, etc.
  • Mechanical skills for maintenance and repair: pneumatics, belts, gearboxes, conveyors etc.
  • Experience of carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Hold or prepared to secure 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Some experience in instrumentation would be an advantage
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team working
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of brewing and packaging operations would be an advantage
