Operations Manager Brewing and Packaging (South East, UK) - (Ref: 1222)

 

Our client is a brewery based in the South, who champions traditional brewing techniques and showcases British hops to produce high quality, distinctive and award-winning real ales. They are now looking for an Operations Manager – Brewing and Packaging to manage the effective running of brewery and packaging operations on a daily basis. Alongside the Head Brewer, they will supervise all brewing, training of brewers, management of brewing team, sanitation and safety procedures. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce beers to WBB standards
  • Oversee brewing and packaging line operations
  • Maintain brewery, inventory and brew sheet paperwork
  • Assist in the recruitment, training and support of all brewery staff
  • Manage quarterly appraisals for all staff
  • Produce weekly product forecast in conjunction with sales team
  • Evaluate and monitor beer and raw materials involved in brewing including budgeted costs
  • Operate brewery and packaging equipment to maintain acceptable inventory of raw materials and beer
  • Supervise cleanliness & sanitation of all equipment, tanks and work areas to maintain consistent beer quality
  • Ensure the brewery and packaging is compliant with all relevant regulations and requirements
  • Consistently reinforce quality across all processes
  • Represent the brewery at a local and national level when needed 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Brewing Qualifications
  • Brewing experience
  • Packaging Line Experience
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, customers and outside parties
  • Competent with Microsoft office & basic computer functions
  • Organised and with a real eye for detail
  • Ability to problem solve and get assistance as needed
  • Strong initiative with a positive attitude
  • Capable of speaking in front of a small group of people as an instructor / presenter
