Production Brewer (London, UK) - (Ref: 1207)

Our client started brewing in 2011 and have trebled their production since 2014. As they continue to grow, it is the perfect time to join their brewery and they are now looking for a Brewer reporting to the Brewing Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • On a Rota for wort generation, weekend brewing/cellaring, Tempus barrel programme and cellaring
  • Carry out daily Cellaring Duties as per listed below
  • Measure tank CO2s/DOs – Carbonating beers as required ensuring beer is in spec for packaging dates
  • Yeasting /hopping Off vessels as required
  • Carry out Yeast counts and viabilities to ensure we have yeast availability for pitching
  • Carry out Vessel cleans (CIPs)
  • Transferring/Dry-hopping FVs
  • Monitor fermentation, taking gravities and adjusting temperatures to ensure Fermentation profiles are adhered to
  • Carry out hygiene work, ensuring the brewery is kept clean
  • Maintain a safe, tidy and hygienic production facility according to SOPs, HACCP and Health and Safety policies
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in full working order
  • Ensure accurate records are kept and written procedures are followed
  • Ensure all products and processes meet relevant Food Hygiene standards
  • Ensure raw materials and supplies are made ready and available to facilitate work
  • Ensure that the quality of product leaving the brewery is excellent at all times
  • Increase understanding of the art and science of brewing through study and investigation 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Current Brewer
  • IBD GCB or equivalent required
  • Ability to demonstrate the “Brewery’s Way” to visitors and clients through cleanliness, enthusiasm and hospitality
  • Good Time Management
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, can be the most senior person on site at times
  • Accountable, can be the first/last responsible person on site
