Production Brewer (North West, UK) - (Ref: 1246)

 

Our client is a leading brewery based in the North West. They have a great reputation for producing excellent beer, with a number of exciting projects under way aided by their recent expansion onto their new semi-automated brew-kit.

As a result, they have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about all things beer, and brewing, to join the team and help bolster their culture of quality, creativity and continuous improvement making the brewery the best it can be.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with all aspects of the commercial brewing process, and have the technical expertise and creativity to help develop the beer and grow the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Brew beers to the established practices and procedures
  • Prepare brewing ingredients
  • Check and manage fermentations from start to finish
  • Harvest and manage yeast
  • Be responsible for accurate data collection and record keeping
  • Transfer beer from vessel to vessel

Other duties may include:

  • Package beer into cask
  • Clean brewing plant and environment
  • QA/QC of the product
  • Load and unload materials safely

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • At least C grade GCSEs (or equivalent) in maths and English
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to communicate with all members of the team
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Good listening skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or as an individual
  • Enthusiastic and passionate
  • Physically able and flexible around shift patterns
  • Understanding of the beer production process useful
  • Experience working in the brewing industry advantageous
  • Understanding of CIP systems and chemical usage and interaction useful
  • Food hygiene qualification helpful
  • Brewing qualification advantageous but not essential as full training provided
