Sales Manager Africa (Homebased within EU) - (Ref: 1193)

 

 

Our client is the Business Unit of a major French group dedicated to the development and marketing of yeasts and yeast products for industries relating to beer, wine, spirits and any other potable alcohol. 

As part of their development, they are recruiting an Area Sales Manager - Africa who will report directly to the Business Unit Director. 

The successful candidate can be homebased within the EU with frequent travel to the African region. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Be involved in the development and execute the strategy, the tactics and action plans that are aligned with the vision of the BU
  • Take responsibility for and keep track of the budget related to the field activity
  • Identify business opportunities and develop the sales of products of high value addition to producers of beer, wine, spirits and other potable alcohols
  • Manage and optimise distribution networks actively
  • Promote the image of the business unit, its products and services with different players in strategic market segments by actively participating in trade fairs, seminars and conferences
  • Carry out the market studies in the area and analyse the competition
  • Work closely with the support functions dedicated to the business unit (R & D, Marketing/Communication, Sales Administration) and other inter- departmental functions of the Group (Production, Quality, Logistics, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, HR, etc.) 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Ideally an Agricultural/Chemical or Commercial engineer with a good knowledge of the fermentation business
  • At least 10 years of experience in selling B2B technical products with high value addition
  • Experience in working within Africa as a region
  • Perfectly bilingual in French/English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office packages
  • A down-to-earth person who loves challenges
  • Independent, pragmatic and result-oriented
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and communication
