Shift Managers (Hungary) - (Ref: 1988)

 

Our client, Pannonia Ethanol Zrt. (PEZ) produces fuel ethanol and animal feed. The company is part of Ethanol Europe Renewables Limited (EERL) and located in Dunaföldvár, Tolna County, Hungary, about one hour drive south of Budapest.

The facility has been recently expanded to become one of Europe’s largest bioethanol plants: it is currently using one million tons of corn per year to produce up to 450 million litres of ethanol, 350,000 tons of distillers’ grains and 10,000 tons of corn oil.

Pannonia Ethanol produces some of the most environmentally friendly ethanol in Europe, with greenhouse gas (GHG) savings well in excess of those required under the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED).

The production process at the plant uses a closed system; minimising waste as well as purifying and reusing water involved in the production. Pannonia Ethanol has built a world class production facility, and provides all necessary resources required to achieve the highest possible performance standards. The Company is now one of the largest and fastest developing bioethanol producers in Europe.

Given its high growth levels since 2012 when production at the plant commenced, and the expansion of production capacity completed in 2015, Pannonia Ethanol is now seeking to appoint 3 Shift Leaders reporting to the Production Manager. 

The Shift Leader will manage the daily operation tasks through embedded short interval process control coupled with Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) to maximise production with optimised workforce allocation, right prioritisation of daily tasks and effective and proactive management of technological issues. The Shift Leader will also need to ensure that safety regulations are followed at all times. As a Line Manager, the Shift Leader is the first superior of shifted employees, he/she will be responsible for attendance and holiday management, employee training and disciplinary process.

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Higher Education in a technical or relevant field
  • Shift Leader experience for a medium size company
  • Advanced English knowledge
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement practices and how they are deployed
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in factory environment
  • Good computer skills (MS Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate others
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage priorities and worklfow
  • Ability to understand advanced production processes and machinary
  • Ability to be a proactive team member
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible/adaptable attitude with 24/7 shift working pattern
  • Highly motivated, results oriented, and able to ‘see the bigger picture’
