Technical Brewer (London, UK) - (Ref: 1215)

 

Our client is a microbrewery with taproom and popular bar based in London. They package beer into keg cask and bottle. A well-funded operation, they will be building a new Brewhouse in the same area in 2018. They are now looking to recruit a Technical Brewer. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all vessels, equipment and facilities are kept clean and hygienic
  • Accurately recording raw materials, production stage timings and quality checks
  • Manually operate the production process and equipment
  • Check temperatures and general quality of samples and making any necessary production adjustments
  • Undertake laboratory analysis of samples to verify microbiological quality control parameters are adhered to
  • Keep track of stock and records of raw materials
  • Liaise with sales team to ensure that they have up to date stock and production forecasts so all orders can be fulfilled
  • Ensure that the day to day management of Health and Safety is in line with company policies
  • Ensure that the HACCP system is adhered to
  • Develop new and improving current recipes
  • Operate packaging process and equipment
  • Carry out routine maintenance as per the maintenance calendar and recording details of any actions taken
  • Execute traceability exercises
  • Supervise any contractors working on site
  • Check brewery emails and respond where necessary
  • Attend weekly meetings to report on brewing activity to company Directors
  • Act as an ambassador of the brewery and industry representative

  • Systems analysis
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Craft Beer industry
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of brewing science

  • First Aider & Fire Marshall
  • Understanding of Mac and Office programs
  • Strong work ethic

  • Excellent Communication skills

  • Ability to innovate
