Technical Packaging Operator (London, UK) - (Ref: 1301)

 

 

Our client is a well-known leading brewery who are looking to recruit a Technical Packaging Operator ensuring beer is packaged safely and to the highest possible quality standards. 

This role forms part of the production team and the incumbent must possess a flexible attitude towards work and be prepared to work on a 24hr shift when required.  This position may require weekend work in line with company demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, housekeeping and quality standards and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain a clean environment for the production of packaged beer
  • Comply with all govt. regulations required in food production facilities
  • Execute all necessary packaging and warehouse operations – keg, can and bottle
  • Ensure all paperwork and QC checks are completed in full to an acceptable standard
  • Report out of specification product to the Packaging or Brewing Team Leaders prior to proceeding
  • Perform routine maintenance of packaging equipment (i.e. hygiene, changing gaskets, seals, planned maintenance checks etc.)
  • Report breakdowns and damage caused to equipment and assist where required in resolving the issue
  • Assist with projects and be an active member of continuous improvement teams as necessary
  • Carry out any other duties as agreed with company management

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Relevant technical qualification (science, engineering, brewing, packaging or winemaking) advantageous, trough not strictly required
  • Working knowledge of packaging operations
  • Some experience in laboratory operations desirable, although not strictly required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes
  • Relevant hands on plant aptitude – excellent problem solving skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Must possess a passion for the Brewing Industry
  • Trade skills and/or a fork lift license would be an advantage
