Technical Sales Consultant (Homebased/South, UK) - (Ref: 1153)



Our client is a leader in providing hygiene technology solutions to many sectors including the brewing and beverage industry. They are now looking to recruit a Technical Sales Consultant to manage their sales to the UK Brewing and beverage sector who will report to the Sales Director. The successful candidate will manage and be responsible for not only the sales of products and services but also for providing customer support whilst growing the business within the Company’s sales plan. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and increase the sales of company products
  • Be responsible for the day to day management of the designated area, keeping company management informed of any relevant issues
  • Maintain both company and customer paperwork systems
  • Have a proactive approach providing effective advice and practical assistance to customer’s needs
  • Give effective sales presentations and prepare proposals in a professional manner
  • Work effectively as a member of a team, working with both field based and head office staff
  • Have an effective role in the training of customer staff both in classroom and hands on situations
  • Ensure that the full technical service package including paperwork systems are implemented in customer sites. Structured Site Service Plans are managed and maintained
  • Be responsible for chemical strength testing and monitoring at customer sites
  • Report on a timely basis as requested through the company’s administration systems
  • Respond to customer call out requests in a professional and timely manner  

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Be computer literate and familiar with the various operating systems
  • Have a wide knowledge of the brewing, dairy and beverage industry or industries, ideally having worked in a Quality Control, Technical or Hygiene role
  • Have a good basic knowledge of microbiology, engineering and detergent chemistry
  • Has good interpersonal skills both in dealings with customers and company staff
  • Be comfortable with a flexible approach to work patterns
  • Be an effective administrator maintaining company and customer paperwork systems
  • Have good selling skills with a technical based approach
