Technical Sales Manager (Homebased / South M4, UK) - (Ref: 1224)


Our client were originally best known as a manufacturer of traditional hand pull beer pumps and associated drinks dispense equipment. They are now a major provider of high quality products and services to the drinks industry, offering a wide and distinct range of services from supply of new equipment, repair and refurbishment of used/second hand equipment, bespoke equipment supply chain solutions and product development/ design.

As a rapidly growing business, they are now recruiting for a Technical Sales Manager to further enhance and improve their field sales presence, particularly in the South of England. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop field sales presence in the South of England and identify new customers and sectors
  • Manage relationships with new & assigned customers as agreed, meeting them regularly via effective journey planning
  • Work with Sales & Marketing Departments to ensure consistent lead generation
  • Ensure the content of all customer meetings is documented and resulting actions are carried out / followed up in a timely manner
  • Ensure correct usage of SAP Business One, the CRM and other applications, including writing up regular activity / visit reports
  • Develop a full understanding of the Company’s full range of products and services and ensure that customers are aware of these as appropriate
  • Manage Customer’s specific enquiries as and when they arise, anticipating their specific needs and providing solutions in a timely manner
  • Manage a range of projects at any one time
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure that all day-to-day operational requirements are being met to the Customer’s satisfaction
  • Establish, maintain and promote high standards of customer service
  • Monitor the commercial and operational performance of each customer to ensure they remain profitable. Identify opportunities to increase their sales and profitability
  • Assist in producing the Company’s annual sales budget, generate regular forecasts for customer accounts and track their actual sales against budget
  • Provide technical support to customers and colleagues as and when required
  • Present effectively to customers and colleagues as and when required
  • Look for and be aware of changes, innovations and technological advances within the industry that may benefit the business or its customers
  • Attend trade shows and industry events both nationally and internationally, when required

 Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Proven track record in sales, of increasing revenue and customer base
  • At least 3 years in a sales representative role within the drinks dispense equipment industry, preferably the brewing sector or beverage/soft drinks industry
  • Technical knowledge, understanding of liquid dispense and able to provide product, technical, sales and marketing support
  • Computer literate, MS Office, Word, Excel and ideally SAP Business One
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
  • Hardworking, persistent and dependable with a positive attitude
  • Results driven, focused and highly motivated
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Able to bring new ideas and ways of working to the business and champion change
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Smart & presentable appearance
