Principal Food Law Advisor

Our client provides scientific, technical, and legislative support to the food, drinks and allied industries worldwide. The practical application of technical excellence lies at the heart of all that they do and is supported by their industry-leading facilities, expertise and knowledge.

 

From analysis and testing and operational support to knowledge management, all their activities are built on an extensive programme of research and innovation steered by industry to ensure maximum commercial relevance.

 

They provide services to companies all along the supply chain, but offer discounts, access to expert advice and other benefits for those that come into membership. Many of their clients are major blue-chip companies and household names.

They are now looking to recruit a Principal Food Law Advisor who will help their clients consistently and efficiently meet complex, demanding and evolving legal requirements in Regulatory Affairs, with strong emphasis on alcoholic beverages. 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Graduate level qualification(s) in science, law or related subjects
  • Science background and work experience in brewing and/or alcoholic drinks industry
  • An extensive knowledge of food law acquired in a commercial, enforcement or policy setting and significant practical experience in delivering projects in this area.
  • Proven track record in mentoring and supporting less experienced members of staff
  • Experience of project management.
  • Excellent oral, written, IT and presentation skills.  Fluency in additional language desirable but not essential
  • Customer service-oriented and committed to providing an outstanding level of service to all
  • Highly organised and process driven, ability to multi-task, time management and prioritisation skills
  • A friendly, can do, flexible and enthusiastic attitude with a strong desire to make the role and business succeed
  • Possession of a full EU driving licence.
