General Manager

Our client is a leading modern craft brewery and are looking to recruit a General Manager, a key leadership role, shaping the future of the business. They will be accountable for the end to end production and logistics of all the brands, ensuring exceptional quality brands are delivered for their customers in the right volume, at the right price and to the right standards in a healthy, safe environment.

This role is accountable for driving quality, productivity and end to end efficiencies, while upholding the mandatory technical standards across Brewing, Packaging, Engineering, Capital Projects and Manufacturing Development.

The General Manager will have full P&L responsibility and be accountable for setting annual and long-range plans for the Brewery, including the capital investment programme, to deliver the brand and commercial objectives for the business.

 

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Significant FMCG background ideally in brewing with strong experience in Quality and Packaging
  • A knowledge of engineering would be desirable
  • Proven General Management Experience at site level
  • Master brewer (or working towards master brewers) or degree in related subject
  • Strong Health and safety experience both in compliance and team engagement
  • Strong experience of leading complex site level projects, through engaging multiples teams to deliver the project on time and to budget
  • Ability and the desire to grow in the company and to be the ‘Face’ of the Brewery
  • A passion for Craft Beer is a must
  • Strong and proven Leadership capability
  • Strong analytical skills in order to assess and drive business performance in a dynamic context
  • Strong business acumen, understanding priorities and functional requirements
  • Problem analysis, judgement, decisiveness; independence; resilience
  • Strong communication skills; inspiring teams to embrace challenges & own the performance
  • Hands on management
