Our client are looking to recruit a Master Distiller who will manage the distillery leadership team and oversee the necessary administration duties required for the production & warehousing of whisky. They will identify, promote and implement continuous improvement in management systems.
The Master Distiller will manage and lead the Blenders ensuring that the quality and consistency of new-make distillates, Scotch whiskies, and other spirit and non-spirit drinks is maintained. He/she will ensure product quality throughout the process from new make through maturation to finished product, and manage tactical bulk inventory to ensure liquid availability.
Skills, experience and attributes:
Scientific or technical degree combined with good production experience, leadership and organisational skills
Relevant years’ experience in distilling environment with detailed whisky distillation and blending knowledge and deep insight into the Scotch Whisky Industry
Strong Scotch Whisky industry knowledge; experience in Gin distillation an advantage
Scientific and analytical approach
Innovative
Good levels of IT knowledge, competent in the use of MS applications
Knowledge of SAP / DRAMs an advantage
Financially literate, able to manage operational budgets and understand the financial implications of decisions
Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) and listening skill.
