Purchasing Manager

Our client is one of the UK’s leading companies in the sales and distribution of drinks and beverages equipment to the juice, cider, wine and beer markets. The company has enjoyed dramatic growth and as such is now seeking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to lead a newly formed supply chain team, responsible for buying, logistics, product conformity and purchasing systems.

The successful candidate will need the gravitas and experience to manage supplier relationships with our world-wide partners, as well as to reduce the cost of purchasing and improve product quality. We would envisage that the successful candidate will have already proven themselves in a formal buying role within an engineering or technical environment and is now looking for the next step up in level of responsibility.

Key attributes and skills necessary are:

  • Astute commercial acumen and strong negotiating skills
  • Have experience in a similar purchasing role, ideally within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand and apply contract terms
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
  • Happy to work within a team and alongside other experienced professionals
  • A good understanding of international trade principles and practices.

The ideal candidate will need a flexible approach to workload, confident in understanding technical specifications and drawings and ability to communicate complex requirements to/from supply chain and the ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
