Our client who produces 100% natural, award-winning gins and sustainably crafted farm-grown drinks is looking to recruit a Distilling Supervisor. This role will assist with the leadership of the Distillery site on a day- to-day basis to ensure that the Distilling team create quality, safe and compliant goods in-line with demand requirements for brand and own label production.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• In conjunction with the Master Distiller, manage the spirit production operations at the distillery
• Implementing the Company’s EHS Management System
• Delivering quality liquids on time in full to meet bottling forecast
• To lead, manage and inspire the distillery team to achieve standards of performance desired as well as supporting them to continually grow and learn through day-to-day support as well as completing the annual and quarterly appraisal processes
• Support and manage holidays / absenteeism and performance of all team members
• Liaising with Head of Operations and Business Operations Manager regarding any changes that affect site operations
• To work with the Rural Estates Groundsman to ensure horticulture requirements are planned, purchased and planted in line with liquid development and production requirements and to ensure farm-grown flora meet raw material needs to satisfy current and future needs.
• Driving continuous improvement and implementing industry best practice and new technology to optimise processes
• Working with procurement to ensure stock levels are sufficient and accountable to meet production schedules, including all stock items and processing aids
• Ensuring NetSuite is kept current to reflect actual stocks of raw materials and liquid stocks
• Ensuring NetSuite meets production requirements, all pertinent data is captured for product creation, release and review, and all necessary electronic and physical documentation is accurately completed for traceability and auditing
• Working with Technical & Quality Manager to ensure operations at the distillery meet product safety requirements
• Ensuring all pertinent documentation is completed fully and accurately
• Ensuring contractors conform to company policies and provide necessary documents to satisfy food safety, health and safety, and environmental compliance
• Providing data to accounts team for W1 submission and ensuring liquid compliance to meet HMRC requirements
• Operate within the budget constraints set
• With the Master Distiller, have responsibility for the security and integrity of the site
• Monitoring yield of all raw materials and addressing any variances from standard
• Ensure housekeeping is being maintained inside and out

Key Post Holder Requirements
• Technical understanding of spirit production.
• Technical understanding of brewing/wine making is desirable
• Team player and ability to mentor a small team to optimise engagement and morale
• Excellent and efficient organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Excel
• To act in a safe, responsible manner at all times whilst actively encouraging others to do the same.
• To ensure food safety and compliance is maintained to the highest standards that our brand dictates and to ensure we are always audit ready.
• To be an Ambassador for the brand ensuring actions and decisions are made with the values at heart, without compromise.

Demonstrable Experience/Knowledge
• Experience of the distilling and blending and process
• Experience of production planning and good manufacturing practice
• Working in fast paced environment, growing with the business
• Project management
• Knowledge and general understanding of drinks production
• Knowledge and experience in managing health and safety, food safety, and environmental compliance
• Working Knowledge of DSEAR and HACCP

Professional / Technical Qualifications and Work Experience Required for The Role
• Relevant qualification in distilling, brewing or wine making is essential
• Appropriate Food Safety and Health & Safety Qualifications are desirable
• Relevant qualification in distilling, brewing or wine making is essential

• Demonstrable experience in a related manufacturing and team leadership roles
• Full Driving Licence
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
