TRADE SALES EXECUTIVE

Our client has established themselves as the leading super-premium gin in the UK and continues to go from strength to strength. They are expanding their team to better service regional accounts and are now looking for an experienced sales executive

This position is suitable for a driven, resourceful and self-motivated salesperson who would have responsibility for on and off trade accounts across the Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire region. This includes working in the field visiting accounts, suggesting value added promotions to drive sales, organising and running tastings and presentations and acting as a Brand Ambassador at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of the territory across on and off trade – with a core focus on independent retailers, farm shops, garden centres and gift shops
• To act as an ambassador for the brand at all times, supporting growth and raising awareness in the assigned territory
• Identify revenue generating opportunities and new customers and creation of a target list in line with strategic direction and brand positioning
• Opening new accounts
• Participation in regional trade shows and events
• Achieve new listings in line with monthly targets and target list
• Build strong relationships with key customers, applying a tailored approach to each
• Suggest and implement value added offers and promotions in line with the season, new product launches and national retail activity
• Work with the marketing team to produce a monthly trade e-newsletter
• Organise and run staff training events including perfect serve, brand positioning, technical product knowledge and sales/upsell tips
• Organise distillery tours for key accounts
• Organise and run tastings and presentations at customer premises on new and existing products, this may include some weekend days and evenings
• Support accounts on behalf of the national distributor when required
• Liaise with the Marketing team to produce attractive point of sale materials
• Provide a monthly activity and progress report vs target set of accounts and revenue targets
• Analyse sales figures for the month, year to date and year on year at customer and product level
• Take orders and liaise with the Accounts team regarding invoices, payments and credit control
• Liaise with the Logistics team to ensure customer orders are delivered on time
• Collate and report on customer feedback, local competitors and market conditions
• Assist with on-site distillery events such as World Gin Day, Surrey Day, trade open afternoon etc.

Performance Measurement:

• Sales volume and value, vs LY and forecast
• Progress vs target account list
• Number of account calls
• Number of tastings/presentations/distillery tours
• On trade gin of the month/house gin listings
• New accounts
• Customer relationship management

Technical skills:

• Previous sales experience where success can be demonstrated is essential
• Previous drinks industry experience is essential, ideally in a super-premium/luxury environment
• Social media skills are essential
• Strong analytical skills are required, the successful candidate must be confident interpreting data and providing actionable insights
• Sound IT skills including Microsoft Office
• Clean full driving licence essential
