Our client, a brewery industry specialist, works with brewers and distillers of all sizes to provide keg and cask rentals, container maintenance services and equipment finance solutions. They are looking to recruit a Sales Manager whose role will be to generate new business, with responsibility for helping to manage the long-term relationships between our client and its’ equipment suppliers.

Job profile

New business sales will be generated from a mix of existing clients, direct sales to prospective customers, direct and industry general marketing, and networking at appropriate events. The individual will report directly into the Sales Director. Progress will be monitored by the measurement of success against targets set monthly. On this basis, the successful candidate will need to be dynamic and self-motivated with a genuine will to succeed. This role will be field based, with significant travel required to meet customers face to face. Critical success factors will be measured in eKeg+ customer acquisition, cask and keg rentals, equipment finance, and the value of finance deals achieved. The role is expected to be technically competent and provide a Consultative selling approach, being recognised by customers as an Industry expert.

Key responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development
• You will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with existing customers and prospects via telephone, emails, web ex and face to face meetings.
• You will be responsible for proactively sourcing new direct sales either by prospecting the existing contacts base, or by sourcing new customers.
• You will be highly motivated and driven to exceed targets set through a measured marketing plan.
• As required you will represent the company at trade exhibitions and events.

• Together with the admin team you will raise new business documentation and liaise with customers to ensure timely signature and return.
• You will be required to answer customer queries on all aspects of the supply and delivery process.
• You will be responsible for ensuring that administration is in line with regulatory requirements and company procedure.
• Minimising arrears through proactive chasing is important, also dealing with any default.
• You will need to be proactive in maximising cross selling opportunities and secondary income.

• You will ensure the Treating Customers Fairly initiative is fully adhered to.

• You will support and input to the design and implementation of container rental and equipment finance marketing activity.

Planning and Organising
• During your day to day work you will be required to effectively plan and organise your time and tasks to ensure monthly sales targets are met/exceeded.
• Effective use of our CRM System is needed to ensure that each customer can be managed by other members of the team in your absence.

Product Knowledge
• After training, you will be required to have a full understanding of all products and assist in future product development by feeding back customer comments or requests to the senior management team.

• You must be fully conversant with the systems required to operate as part of the role, and to use systems in line with operating policies and procedures.

Health & Safety
• Must ensure that the company Health and Safety procedures are adhered to always.

• You will be required to attend training courses as and when requested, for both regulatory and personal development purposes. Special focus will be given to supporting financial awareness to conduct equipment finance activity. Computer Based Training (CBT) modules will be a regular training medium and compliance / completion is mandatory.

Skills and experiences
• UK or International On-Trade experience either in Asset Rentals, Brewing, Brewing Equipment Supply, Draught Technical Services or Logistics.
• Experience in a commercial or business development role with a proven track record of success of consultative selling.
• Equipment Asset Finance Experience or Knowledge.
• Exceptional Customer Management skills.
• Previous role where numerate, analytical ability has been demonstrated.
• Ability to evaluate and appraise commercial proposals and business models.
• Ability to deliver results at pace without significant line manager intervention.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
