PROCESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Our client, a leader in the production of beer, is looking to recruit a Process Development Specialist. Preferably based in Ireland, the role will provide global technical leadership for our client’s  beer business.

Context/Scope

  • Global Technical: Science and Technology (S&T) provides technical leadership for the Beer business globally. Within Science and Technology, the S&T team functions in the following areas;
    • Brewing centre of excellence, leading process development & transformation across brewing, driving efficiencies and process agility
    • Liquid Innovation, providing technical solutions to support and enable brand innovations
    • Sustainability, providing technical solution in and around brewing to help achieve the sustainability 2030 ambition.
    • Quality improvement to address the fundamentals to enable flavour improvement and successful innovations. With special focus on brewing recipes, yeast and fermentation and microbiology & hygiene and CIP.
  • Within the Global Technical Science & Technology function- this role sits within the S&T Beer team. The team brings together a wide range of complementary expertise and skills, leaning  towards beer and brewing.
  • The remit is very much global and spans across all categories/ product types and production sites.
  • Successful candidates are expected to travel as required.

 

Purpose of Role

  • Contribute to the technical role of the S&T team within the global supply business.
  • Add value to the business and build the reputation of the S&T team as trusted technical partner.
  • Deliver R&D projects in areas including –
    • innovation,
    • margin enhancement,
    • sustainability,
    • capacity release,
    • process optimisation,
    • quality improvement,
    • concentrate development,
    • manufacturing support

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Brewing, Science / Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• A core competency in Brewing and one or more of the following: Liquid manufacturing / processing, Biotechnology, Fermentation, Microbiology, Filtration, CIP, Water Treatment.
• At least 2 years practical experience in a relevant Technical role
• Breadth and depth of knowledge of liquid / manufacturing processes desirable.
• Clear thinker and communicator with good analytical and planning skills.
