Our client is a micro-brewery situated in the Midlands, UK. With innovation and high quality at their core, the brewery produces upwards of 30 distinct brews, plus special editions. They are now looking to recruit a Brewer who will be involved in each step of production from development of new recipes to delivery to market.
Responsibilities:
• Involvement in the development of new beers and new initiatives, all the way through to release to market.
• Joint responsibility for the entire process, from controlling the malt delivery system, to signing off QC, ready for packaging.
• Involvement with a barrel ageing program which has produced some of the best Stouts and other celebrated styles in the world, helping to create the next masterpieces!
• Maximising brewhouse efficiency, monitoring fermentations, dry-hopping, nurturing yeast, performing detailed lab work and QC, training other staff, developing our procedures and processes and liaising with our packaging, sales and management teams.
• Opportunities to create recipes and develop new beers and processes and working in collaboration with some of the world’s best breweries, visiting other brewers and representing the Brewery at events in the UK and overseas.
Experience & Qualifications –
• 3 years’ experience brewing in a commercial brewery.
• IBD General Certificate in Brewing preferred – support will be given to advance to next level of qualifications
• Alternative qualifications and demonstrable knowledge and experience will also be accepted.
• A love of beer and brewing, a keen eye for detail and a sound technical knowledge of brewing, process engineering and scientific method.
