Quality Manager - Brewing

Our client, one of the UK’s leading independent craft breweries, is looking to recruit a Quality Manager who will oversee all brewery QA/QC operations formulated by a robust quality plan. Covering the lab and production, including raw materials through to packaged good, their primary responsibility is to ensure that products maintain a high level of quality for internal and external requirements. This position manages sampling plans, microbiological, physical-chemical testing, sensory program, data collection and material analysis.

Covering compliance, he/she must ensure that the brewery conforms with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), M&S, SALSA Standards, legal requirements, and food safety. They will liaise with all departments throughout the business to ensure quality standards are maintained at every level.

Key skills and experience:  

  • Five years’ experience in QC and QA in brewing industry
  • Strong skills and knowledge in microbiology
  • Experience controlling brewing processes and assessing beer quality
  • Knowledge of food production and manufacturing principles
  • Quality and team management experience
  • Strong attention to details and analytical skills to achieve continuous improvement
  • High level computer skills with MS software packages
  • Able to work to deadlines and to prioritise workload
  • Personable and able to get on well with staff who perform various roles in the brewery
  • Excellent organisation, collaboration, and communication skills
