Our client is looking to recruit a professional, enthusiastic and personable individual with a passion for brewing and/or microbiology to join the existing brewing team as a Technical Sales Manager for Mid Southern region USA, reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager – North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting the sales of the portfolio of dry brewing yeasts and nutrients, supplemental brewing products and services within the assigned territory. They must have a recognised degree-level qualification in a biological or food science discipline. A recognised brewing qualification would also be advantageous as would practical brewing experience and/or sales experience in the craft brewing industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct contact with commercial breweries in the assigned territory regarding sales of dry brewing yeast, auxiliary products and technical support. This includes both virtual and in-person meetings.
• Preparation and delivery of monthly sales reports and expense budgets.
• Create and deliver presentations at brewing-related events when required.
• Obtain and record information about the customer regarding key contacts, production, competitor presence and potential opportunities/threats. Proficiency with using a company CRM is essential.
• Assist and participate in design of marketing campaigns.
• Organise and manage the company’s presence at exhibitions and tradeshows.
• Communicate and work with sales personnel from other regions in the US.
• Learn the technical characteristics of all commercial brewing strains and other products in the portfolio.
• Manage inquiries (technical and sales-related) concerning dry brewing yeast in the territory.
• Contact and develop relationships with manufacturers and installers of commercial brewing equipment in order to establish relationships with newly operating breweries at the earliest possible opportunity.
• Develop relationships with universities and local institutions involved in brewing education – provide yeast samples for in-house training.
• Assist breweries with using products as required.
General Criteria
• Must be able to maintain flexible work hours from a home-based location within the assigned territory.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
